Yes, You WILL See a Tiger!

Bengal Tigers photographed in India on Terra Incognita EcotoursMost of our India Ecotour guests have a common goal; to witness the country’s majestic marquis species, the Bengal tiger, in its native and natural habitat. For this bucket-list experience, they have traveled halfway around the world. Can you imagine journeying such a distance only to be disappointed?

Me neither. Which is why; 1) I guarantee all Terra Incognita Ecotour guests that they will see at least one tiger (and more likely several tigers) in the wild when then they travel with us to India, and 2) we visit not one but three incredible and distinct national parks that are all tiger habitats.

Corbett National Park has been the inspiration and setting for numerous books. In fact, the first ever books on Indian wildlife photography and Jim Corbett’s tales of Indian tigers were all written and photographed in these very same jungles. Currently, this park has the highest density of tigers per square kilometer; nearly 165 tigers in total.

Bandhavgarh National Park encompasses the jungles of central India written about in Rudyard Kipling's 'Jungle Book.' There is plenty to see in this small and scenic park, which is set around a historic site with carvings, temples and a fort. Bandhavgarh is consistently known to have a very high concentration of tigers in the designated "tourist zone", and they are very vehicle friendly.

Kanha National Park was created in 1955 and is now the largest park in Central India. It boasts significant populations of Bengal tigers, leopards and sloth bear within its lush setting of rolling meadow and steep ravines. This is perhaps the most picturesque setting to view Indian wildlife.
